Baumer innovations are well-received, both by users and the professional audience of the trade magazine "messtec drives Automation" (Wiley). The smart level sensor CombiLevel PLP70 has finished first place in the voting for the AutomationsBest Award in the category Best Product. Product manager Julian Budde received the award at SPS 2023 in Nuremberg.

The innovative feature of the potentiometric level sensor PLP70 is its unparalleled low minimum conductivity required for continuous level measurement (greater than 5 microsiemens/cm), working fine even with media like distilled water. The very accurate and reliable measurement results make it easy to optimize processes, such as the precise monitoring of the level in process tanks and storage tanks.

Highly flexible and fast: Perfect fit for filling systems

"The PLP70 can be particularly beneficial in applications with high variety or frequent media changes. Thanks to its media-independent measuring principle, the sensor offers the highest accuracy and repeatability even in the most demanding applications," says product manager Julian Budde. Examples of challenging applications include processes with difficult-to-measure pasty, adhering, or foaming media with low conductivity. The PLP70, with its short response time of less than 100 milliseconds, is especially suitable for highly dynamic processes with rapid changes in level in filling systems. The very accurate, fast level measurement immediately pays off in the form of maximum raw material utilization.

The areas of application range from industrial applications (process tanks, cleaning systems, filter systems, water treatment plants, agricultural machinery) to hygienic applications (filling systems, storage and buffer tanks, storage tanks, process tanks, filter systems, cleaning systems).
